Negotiating
I'm writing this section now. When it's done, it will cover what settlement negotiations look like in a debt collection case — when they happen, who initiates them, what kinds of terms come up, and what a settlement agreement typically contains.
Settlement is where most debt cases end. A trial is possible, but in practice, many cases resolve with some kind of agreement between the two sides. This page will describe what that process generally looks like, without telling anyone what to agree to.
